Direct Primary Care

1. I already have health insurance, why should I pay additional monthly fee for healthcare?

As you know, health insurance is not health care. As a consumer you want to spend your money on something that has value. No one can put a price on good health. We are committed and passionate about providing exceptional care to our patients regardless of whether you have insurance or not. You want a physician who can partner with you to get as much value for your health care dollar as possible. Your membership with Total Health Solutions (THS) will enable you to have access to your physician through cell phone, secure text messaging or email. You will be able to have same day or next day appointments in a familiar and welcoming environment with staff who know you. You have unlimited visits with no copay because your insurance provider is not a part of our relationship. You will be able to purchase medications at a greatly discounted rate as well as discounted routine lab tests. You will not find these benefits in a traditional primary care practice nor will you have this type of access to your doctor. Often medical issues can be handled via phone, text or email without an office visit being needed. This could keep you from having to go to an urgent care facility. The average cost of a visit to urgent care is $200 not to mention the high deductible you have to reach before insurance covers your costs.

2. What age patient do you accept?

16 years of age and up

3. Is Total Health Solutions a form of health insurance?

No, it is not a form of health insurance and we do not offer health insurance. We encourage you to carry health insurance for the purposes of catastrophic illness, hospitalization coverage and unforeseen surgery.

4. If I have Medicaid can I join Total Health Solutions?

You can join THS. THS will NOT bill Medicaid. Please note – Medicaid has stated the following: It doesn’t make sense for Medicaid participants to self-pay for physician services when they can see specific other physician for no charge. Medicaid participants paying for additional covered services might cause the participants coverage to be looked at closely to see if they really need Medicaid coverage.

5. Will Total Health Solutions ever bill my insurance?

No. We will not bill your insurance for any visit or in-house covered procedures or labs. However, we can, if you choose, to use your insurance for other lab work performed, imaging and scheduling referrals.

6. Do I need an appointment or is this a walk-in clinic?

This is not a walk-in clinic. If you need to be seen by the physician, we ask that you make an appointment. We can usually accommodate you within 24 hours.

7. What if I need a specialist or additional diagnostic testing?

We can suggest and arrange referrals for all other diagnostic testing as well as appointments with the appropriate specialists. Payments to other specialists are NOT included in your membership.

8. What costs are involved in becoming a patient?

We require a minimum 3 month commitment for membership and 2 months payment upon joining Total Health Solutions. This is NOT a registration fee, this amount will be credited to your account. Your monthly payments will begin with your third (3rd) month of membership.

Monthly membership fee

  •  $60 – single
  •  $100 – couple
  •  $175 – for a family of 4 – including 2 children 16 or older

We will not charge or collect any co-payments or deductibles for visits.

9. Are there any hidden fees?

NO! THS has listed some minor procedures and lab work included in your yearly fee. If there is a medication or lab work that the physician recommends that is not included in your membership, you will be told UP FRONT the cost of that item. YOU will have the option to decide in advance if you want to pay cash or use your insurance. You will be in control of choosing how to spend your money.

10. Do I have to sign a yearly membership contract?

No yearly contract is required. We do require a minimum 3 month commitment at registration, but after that, it is a month to month agreement. Membership can be cancelled by either party with 30 day notice.

11. How do I pay my monthly fee? Is there a discount if I pay for one year in advance?

Your monthly fee will automatically be withdrawn from the credit card or checking account information you provide us with. Yes, you can receive a 5% discount if you pay for your one-year membership in advance.

12. What are the benefits of joining if I am healthy and don’t need to see a physician often?

In addition to sick visits, THS is committed to preventative health maintenance, which is a long-term investment with both you and the physician. Physicals are not just routine, they are the opportunity for early disease detection and disease prevention.

13. Why is this practice a better option for me and my family?

Many patients have insurance plans with high deductibles anywhere from $2000 – $6000. The average patient does not ever reach those amounts, but still ends up paying up to $1500 out of pocket yearly for medical costs. Our patients, who pay a monthly fee for less than half of that amount get unlimited office visits with NO co-pays and discounted labs and medication. With all these benefits, over the year, we actually will end up saving you more than your membership costs.

14. What if I do not have any medical insurance?

We welcome patients regardless of your insurance status. Patients with or without insurance are treated equally within the practice. However, we do recommend that everyone have some insurance in order to protect them for catastrophic injuries or hospitalizations.

15. Does Total Health Solutions treat pain management patients?

No. Total Health Solutions does not treat patients with chronic pain.
